About Falcon Flight

Falcon flight students

Falcon Flight is designed to teach functional life skills and entry-level work skills to special education students and to support their growth into adulthood. Program activities take place in the community of Montevallo, including work sites, and at the University of Montevallo.

Young adults with intellectual disabilities who have completed the requirements for a high school diploma and are in their 13th year of high school are eligible to participate in this transition program that focuses on skills that promote independence. The daily living, academic, and self-determination skills that are integral parts of the adult world are also emphasized. Skills that are addressed include academic training, occupational guidance and preparation.
